God’s Word is ETERNAL.

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8

“…having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever….” 1 Peter 1:23

“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle [a tiny mark in the original spelling of a word] will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.“ Matthew 5:18

“And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.” Luke 16:17

You think God would have a book that is only applicable for a couple of centuries? God’s Word holds true from generation to generation. The danger comes from misinterpretation.

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS DONE BY US IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, but according to his own MERCY, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. - James 3:9-12

Every time I feel like cursing, I just keep this in mind. :)
