Hi there, my dear followers! I know this isn’t a Disney thing but i just want to say GOODLUCK! to Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao for his fight with Margarito this coming weekend. ;)
“FILIPINOS around the globe are looking forward to another festive triumphal weekend as Philippine national boxing hero Manny Pacquiao struts his wares anew Saturday (Sunday in RP) at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas against Antonio Margarito of Mexico for the vacant World Boxing Council super-welterweight throne.
Pacquiao, who is going for an unprecedented eighth world title in eight different weight divisions, is picked 6-1 over Margarito despite the Mexican’s reach and height advantage.
The Pacman likewise believes he can take down the much-taller Tijuana Tornado with his speed and agility.
“I believe in myself, I have faith in God, and I work hard,” said the world’s No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer. “I am not worried about the size. I’ve developed a strategy in fighting big guys.’
The seven-division titlist has always relied on his quickness and speed to win against much-bigger opponents like Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto in his previous fights.
Margarito, on the other hand, expressed confidence that he could somehow get Pacquiao into exposing his weaknesses.
Although he has always admired Pacquiao’s ring career, the slower-footed Margarito said he knows the Filipino boxing icon also makes mistakes aside from his being short.
“I see his speed. I know he is a fast guy, but he is smaller also,” said Margarito, who has fought some solid fighters in his career and has recorded 38 wins in 44 outings, 27 of those via knockout.”
